£7.61
Lo and behold; was this monetary amount found scattered about my living room as I was cleaning.
In the old days I'd have gone to the shop for some wine.
Instead I've put it in a piggy bank(also found whilst cleaning)
Symbolically, this is a great thing! The start of adulting starts with a piggy bank! I'm now adulting at a cost of £7.61🥰
In therapy this week, we talked about how many years since the first drink to now and how many of those years were deemed alcohol problematic.
So of my 43 years, I deffo think 23 of them were alcohol problematic.
Then to work out an average of £££ spent in that time.
So I got around £145,000 spent. Seems legit.
Am I upset? No.
Incredulous and tut tutting? Also no.
Am I proud I've saved £7.61 up to now? Fuck yes.
And that's the thing. I've learned the past is the past. That 145k is long gone, and there's nowt I can do about it,but the £7.61 is right here.
Is the same with things which are in my past. Did those experiences cost me?hell yes.
Is there any use is apportioning blame and dwelling on it though?Fuck no.
The only thing which defines us, is us!
🤘
Way to go! Great perspective! So proud of you, you are so amazing!

Deletehey Shaz can I have a loan? Seriously girl you are doing amazing. I know its not anywhere close to giving up alcohol but when I gave up Dr Pepper I never thought I could do it and now I am 3 yrs soda free :) as of yesterday. I cant even remember what it taste like. And thats my point I pray that the taste of alcohol become faint and you never want that taste in your mouth again! Your amazing!!
ReplyDeleteMa'am there is no difference between your relationship with Dr Pepper and my relationship with the grog. Huge well done to your soda sobriety! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
